A fully handstitched cap-toe double monk in hand-polished Vanta Black calf. A straight cap-toe seam runs across the vamp, edged with a fine line of hand-punched brogue perforations that continues along the curved quarter edges. Twin polished silver square buckles. Warm caramel-tan calfskin lined — a bright interior flash against the Vanta-Black exterior. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The City Monk & the Trinity 1156
The Bonaparte rests on the Trinity 1156 last — a sharp French dress last with a long almond toe and a fine waist. It is a cap-toe double monk — twin straps crossing the vamp on the diagonal, each closing with a polished silver square buckle. Where our Philippe (peanut-brown / cognac) and Boulevard (peanut-brown / neptune-blue) are the range's coloured double monks, the Bonaparte is the disciplined city monk: single-material Vanta Black, cap-toe rather than wingtip, decorated only along its seams.
A straight cap-toe seam runs across the vamp on the diagonal, edged with a fine line of hand-punched brogue perforations. The same fine border continues along the curved quarter edges behind the monk straps. That is all the decoration the shoe carries — no wingtip W, no medallion, no contrast material. The rest is polish: hand-burnished Vanta Black calf, glazed under wax to a high wet-shine finish, ready to move from office to evening without changing register.
Inside, the shoe is lined in warm caramel-tan calfskin — a bright interior flash that only reveals itself when the shoe is off, or when the topline catches a light. Goodyear-welted onto a hand-burnished black leather sole with a dark walnut edge and cream twisted-thread stitching along the entire welt.
