Cruise
A fully handstitched venetian slip-on with a hand-woven basket-weave vamp in Vanta Black calfskin, framed by smooth polished calf on the quarters, topline, and toe cap. No strap. No hardware. Just the weave, the shine, and a flash of cherry-red at the mouth. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Hand-Woven Vamp & the Kuban 302
The Cruise rests on the Kuban 302 last — a sharp Italian slip-on last with a long, closed almond toe and a lowered instep for a dress-shoe silhouette. It is cut as a venetian slipper: no strap across the vamp, no penny slot, no tassel. Everything the shoe wants to say is in the leather.
The vamp is hand-woven from narrow strips of Vanta Black calfskin, each cell interlaced by hand and pressed flat — a Bottega-adjacent basket weave that catches and refuses light in equal measure. The quarters, topline, and toe cap are cut from smooth polished calf, hand-burnished to a wet-shine finish that frames the weave against its own quieter black.
Inside, the shoe is fully lined in vivid cherry-red calfskin — a signature flash of colour at the mouth and along the top-line seam. Goodyear-welted onto a slim leather sole with a black-lacquered edge.
