A fully handstitched apron-front loafer in hand-burnished Mantis Green calf — a multi-tonal patina that shifts from deep olive at the counter to bright chartreuse across the vamp. A single saddle strap crosses the throat, marked with three antique-bronze studs — the shoe's quiet signature. Cherry-red calfskin lined. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Three-Stud Saddle & the Neva 503
The Ledger rests on the Neva 503 last — an easy, elongated slip-on last with a soft almond toe and a low, closed instep. The upper is cut as a single-material apron-front construction: a U-shaped throat seam runs from the topline down to the vamp, drawn together by hand so the seam sits flat and true from any angle.
Across the throat, a single saddle strap crosses the vamp — a formal counterpoint to the loose apron below. Three antique-bronze studs are set into the strap in a straight line, spaced evenly, weathered to match the burnished tone of the leather. It's the shoe's quietest and most decisive detail: a penny-loafer echo without the penny slot.
The Mantis Green patina is built up in successive hand-applied glazes — a deep olive base at the counter and topline, lifted through chartreuse across the vamp, then sealed under wax. Lined throughout in vivid cherry-red calfskin. A subtle chartreuse edge is painted along the top-line, catching light when the shoe moves.
