Murphy
A fully handstitched stealth slip-on in deep Vanta Black polished calfskin. Twin antique-brass buckles are mounted decoratively on the outer quarter — monk-strap hardware translated onto a loafer body. An apron-front U-seam runs along the top of the vamp. Warm caramel-tan lined — no bright interior flash. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Double-Buckle Side & the Agency 104
The Murphy rests on the Agency 104 last — an easy, elongated slip-on last with a soft almond toe and a low, closed instep. The upper is cut as a single-material apron-front construction: a U-shaped throat seam runs from the topline down to the vamp, drawn together by hand so the seam sits flat and true from any angle.
On the OUTER side of the shoe, twin small antique-brass rectangular buckles are mounted decoratively one above the other along the quarter panel — monk-strap hardware translated onto a loafer body. Each buckle sits on a short leather strap-fragment, purely ornamental (this is a slip-on with no fastening). The buckles are warm satin brass with an aged patina — the shoe's quietest and most decisive detail: monk drama on a slipper chassis.
The Vanta Black patina is built up in successive hand-applied glazes — deep dimensional black with graphite undertones across the vamp, sealed under wax to a mirror-polished depth where the calf grain still reads under the polish. Lined throughout in warm natural caramel-tan calfskin — a stealth warm interior, not the bright cherry-red flash of our other loafers. Goodyear-welted onto a hand-burnished walnut-edge leather sole with cream twisted-thread stitching along the entire welt.
