Philippe
A fully handstitched wingtip double monk in hand-burnished Peanut Brown and Cognac calf. A deeper peanut-brown wingtip and monk straps wrap a lifted cognac vamp insert, joined along a clean scalloped W-seam — the wingtip silhouette drawn only in seam and colour, no brogueing. Twin polished silver square buckles. Dark espresso lined. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Restrained Wingtip & the Tigris 8
The Philippe rests on the Tigris 8 last — a long, closed Italian dress last with a sharp almond toe. It is a double-monk-strap wingtip — two straps crossing the vamp on the diagonal, each closing with a polished silver square buckle. Where our Bastille is the loud single-monk full-brogue — wingtip, saddle, brogue perforations, dramatic red/green colour-block — the Philippe is its quiet counterpart: same wingtip architecture, no perforations, tone-on-tone.
The upper is cut in two hand-burnished patinas of the same weight of full-grain calf. The wingtip toe cap, quarters, heel counter, and both monk straps are patinated in a deep peanut-brown, sealed to a warm dimensional shine. The vamp insert — the classic "W" that sits behind the wingtip — is lifted to a brighter cognac, glossy against the darker frame. Where the two colours meet, a clean scalloped W-shaped seam is stitched in cream twisted thread — a border you notice only when the light finds it. No brogueing anywhere. The shape does all the work.
Inside, the shoe is lined in dark espresso calfskin — a restrained finish that matches the buckle mood and lets the exterior patina carry the shoe. Goodyear-welted onto a hand-burnished natural leather sole with a tan welt band and cream twisted-thread stitching along the entire welt.
