Toulouse
A fully handstitched Venetian tassel loafer with the entire upper hand-woven from individual Real Burgundy calfskin strips in a Bottega-style basket-weave. Twin tone-on-tone burgundy leather tassels sit at the throat. Cherry-red carmine lined — an intentional two-red palette of deep wine exterior and bright cherry interior. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Fully Hand-Woven Upper & the Neva 406
The Toulouse rests on the Neva 406 last — a sharp Italian slip-on last with a long, closed almond toe and a lowered instep for a dress-shoe silhouette. It is cut as a Venetian tassel loafer: no strap, no lacing, no buckle — just the woven upper and twin small tone-on-tone Real Burgundy leather tassels at the throat. Everything the shoe wants to say is in the leather.
The ENTIRE upper is hand-woven from narrow strips of Real Burgundy calfskin, each cell interlaced by hand and pressed flat — a Bottega-adjacent basket weave that covers every millimetre of the shoe from toe to heel counter. No smooth panels anywhere. The hand-burnished patina lifts some strips to catch a mahogany-cognac highlight while others rest in the deeper wine-red shadow — the woven texture dominates the entire silhouette.
Inside, the shoe is fully lined in vivid cherry-red carmine calfskin — a brighter warmer red than the deep-wine burgundy exterior, an intentional two-red palette where the interior flash punches through against the deeper outside. Goodyear-welted onto a slim burgundy leather sole with fine cream-thread welt stitching.
