Tournelles
A fully handstitched split-toe derby in hand-burnished Sandstone Tan calf. A curved T-shaped seam sweeps down the vamp from the throat and continues straight to the toe — the elegant French split-toe silhouette drawn only in seam. Red-lacquered leather sole, warm caramel-tan calfskin lined. Cut, lasted, and stitched by hand at our atelier.
The Split-Toe T-Seam & the Trinity 8
The Tournelles rests on the Trinity 8 last — a French dress last with an elongated almond toe and a moderate instep, cut close to the foot at the waist. It is a four-eyelet derby — open lacing, quarters sewn on top of the vamp — in the split-toe silhouette that Aubercy and Berluti made their own.
The signature is drawn entirely in seam. A curved T-shaped throat cutout sits behind the lacing and descends into a single straight centre seam that runs from the throat to the toe, dividing the vamp in half. Both edges of the T — the curve and the centre line — are raised, hand-piped in the same tan calf, and hand-stitched in cream twisted thread that reads as the shoe's decorative border. No brogue perforations. No contrast material. Only the seam.
The upper is a single piece of hand-burnished Sandstone Tan calf, deeply patinated at the counter and toe periphery and lifted lighter across the vamp. Lined throughout in warm caramel-tan calfskin. Goodyear-welted onto a hand-lacquered cherry-red leather sole — a signature flash of colour visible when the shoe crosses a room — with cream twisted-thread stitching along the walnut welt.
